Mixed Media and Collage

I prefer mixed media over a single medium for painting. I like to use house paint and artist's acrylics together. I plan to move to strictly house paint for future work, because I like the look and feel I get using that over artist's acrylics.

I enjoy the mystery of mixing oil and acrylic paints together. They dry at differents rates and render some interesting results. It's like an abstract painting within and abstract painting.

I also use collage as a technique in my paintings. No Way Out uses barbed wire to form a crown of thorns. Dark Side uses Xerox copies of a photograph and Night Surf has a yellow moon made from a piece of raw canvas.
