This gentleman was asking for money between sessions on his axe and the rest of the musicians that gathered in Jackson Square in front of the St. Louis Cathedral. It's a hard way to make a living.

As I look at this photograph today, I wonder what happened to him after Katrina. I often wonder what happened to the many New Orleans musicians after hurricane Katrina.
