Modern Ceramics Wall Sculpture
This was my first attempt at making tiles. I was beginning a journey in Raku, so the piece is quite colorful.
I scrounged a piece of plywood and used a bonding material to hold the tiles to the plywood. I was rushing to finish the project the day of final critique so there was not much time to think about the placement of the tiles.
Although I regret not having the time to plan the piece better, I did make an "A" for the semester. Not too bad for someone going into a freshman clay class not liking clay.
I went on to do a double concentration in photography and ceramics. Ceramics became my new mistress and Raku became my preferred firing method until my last semester.
