High Fired Raku Clay
This bowl was either the first or second in a series using a raku clay body, the same glazing and high firing techniques. The clay was rolled out to about an inch thick and cut into slabs. The slabs were then draped over wrinkled black plastic that covered a metal dome.
White glaze was applied to the inside of the bowl and removed leaving white glaze left in the creases caused by the plastic. The outside of the bowl was glazed in the same white glaze.
Red slip was thinly applied to the inside of the bowl and then high fired.
