A Dark Period In My Life
This painting, done in 1995, came from a drawing I made in 1992. I was living in Augusta, Georgia in an abusive relationship that was getting, nor was it going to get, any better. It was late at night and I was feeling so isolated and alone with no light at the end of the tunnel.
I cared about my partner, but the abuse was getting worse and I was coming to a time in my life where I had to make a decision about what I was going to do. This painting was my cry for help to myself from a dysfunctional and abusive relationship.
