Fractal art is more science than art with a bit of luck thrown in. I hope you will find some pleasing and interesting works. I like the challenge to make fractals that are representational to a degree, yet hold to the abstract forms I try to make.
Values and coordinates determine the look of a fractal. There are fractal programs that use special effects to twist and squeeze the image to make an interesting piece of art. I like fractals as art, but like candy, too much of a good thing can have an unpleasant effect. Fractal art is fun to make. The most challenging aspect of making fractals is coming up with a title.
