Madonna with Child in the Modern Movement
I was raised in the Presbyterian church. Later I left it for peeks into other traditions.
When I was in my first year of college I took an introductory course in philosophy. The instructor was an admitted agnostic, but he gave the information in a non-biased way. The man made me think about the religion I had grown up with. He pointed out things that I had never heard come out of a preacher's mouth.
Later in my life as I began to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, I began to understand the common thread that ran in all religions.
Jesus was a Jew, thus the Star of David in the belly of the image. The first Christians were Jews. Some how the churches have failed to provide this information, but then again they may not know or have forgotten it themselves.
