Working with fractals is interesting. The program I use is Apophysis. In the editor you move triangles around and resize them if you want. Everytime you move or resize a triangle the image changes. You can change a single flame any number of times and save it.

When I saw this one in the editor the old song "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" came to mind. I don't know why, but I couldn't get the song out of my head after seeing the rendering, thus the title.
