Midnight Moon and the Mark
I was dating a young woman from Taiwan when I was at the University. Knowing that Raku is an ancient Japanese firing process, I wanted to add a twist to this piece. I wanted the mark on the pot to have meaning, to say something profound (ha!). I asked my girlfriend to write some Chinese characters (the twist) that had some meaning.
She wrote and I couldn't copy, so I made a few marks on the pot. No meaning, no oriental language, just marks. Looks authentic though, so now you know.
