New Orleans Photographs by Artist KDD

The city of New Orleans in Louisiana is a living, breathing entity.

History prowls it's streets. The French Quarter was and is New Orleans, but there is more. The streets hold wonders. The neighborhoods are small communities of togetherness.

These images are just one view of the life of an 18th century city that was born out of the American wilderness. The moderness of it's structures in contrast with it's past abound at every turn in the city. From Dega's house to the St. Louis Cathedral, where voodoo priestess Marie Laveau attended services, one can feel the spirits about; and sometimes even see and hear them.

There are some experimental images in the lot. There are hand-held available light images that not only recorded my movements, but those of my subjects as well. The idea was to infuse the image with the life of the city and it's people.
