Forty Years to the Promised Land
As the story goes the Jews wandered in the desert for forty years before coming to the promised land. There were lessons to be learned. Trusting in their God was one of the lessons.
God promised to lead the Israelites with a pillar of smoke by day and a pillar of fire by night. He also promised to feed them with Manna, the bread from heaven.
